Little Piano Girl Celebration
Throwing it back to the very first in person MLWI event called the Little Piano Girl Celebration.
During the spring of 2024 we had a special event at the Heinz History Center, where MLWI board members, volunteers, family and friends gathered to celebrate Aunt Mary.
Founder and Nice Bobbie Ferguson and Board Member and Nephew Gerry Ferguson spoke about how Aunt Mary inspires them both in different ways and shared the intention behind this family founded and operated organization.
Long time family friend Darryl Cann played the clarinet, you can often see Darryl supporting and sometimes playing during MLWI events.
We were incredibly honored to have Dr. Nelson Harrison not only attend but to also share stories about Jazz History and Pittsburgh legacies.
Board Member Dr. Tammy Kernodle connects with Kennedy Center Director of Music Programming Kevin Struthers while viewing the exhibit featuring Aunt Mary.
And WZUM Radio Host Scott Hanley, spoke about how Aunt Mary was one of the founding members of the Pittsburgh Jazz Festival.
